Birgunj. Tensions have risen in Thori of Parsa after a Nepali who went to market in Bhiknathori, India was beaten by the Indian SSB. While returning to Thori after buying goods from the Indian market, SSB jawans had beaten the locals in Thutekhola area. According to eyewitnesses, SSB jawans Himansu and Zakir Ali Khan charged Bishnu Ghimire, Raj Kumar Adhikari, Bhim Lal Tamang, Vikas Gurung and others with sticks.

After the beating on the Nepali side, locals of Thori and residents of Bhikna Thori, an Indian border market, had gathered at Thutekhola and chanted slogans against the SSB’s atrocities. After the locals protested, both the SAB men who were charging the baton fled. Security forces were scrambling to control the angry crowd.
